Meet the Team Behind Nastaleeq Web Pro – Our Journey, Our Passion

Introduction
Behind every great Urdu typography tool stands a team of dedicated individuals who share a common vision and a burning passion. Nastaleeq Web Pro is no exception. While the tool may appear as lines of code and elegant fonts on your screen, it is actually the result of countless hours of collaboration, creativity, and commitment from a small but mighty team.
In this third post of our launch series, I want to introduce you to the people who make Nastaleeq Web Pro possible. You will meet the developers, the designers, the Urdu language experts, and the community builders who pour their hearts into this project every single day. By the end of this post, I hope you will see Nastaleeq Web Pro not just as a tool, but as a living, breathing project driven by real people with real passion.
Our Founding Story: How We Came Together
The team behind Nastaleeq Web Pro did not form overnight. We did not meet in a corporate boardroom or at a fancy networking event. We came together organically, drawn by a shared frustration and a shared dream.
It started with our founder, Hassaan Ahmad Awan, whose personal struggles with Nastaleeq fonts online we explored in the previous post. As Hassaan shared his vision for a better Urdu typography tool, others began to take notice. Friends, colleagues, and complete strangers reached out, offering their skills and their time. They wanted to help. They believed in the mission.
Within weeks, a core team had formed. We had no office, no budget, and no timeline. What we had was passion. And for Nastaleeq Web Pro, that was enough.
Today, our team spans multiple cities and time zones. We communicate through chat apps and video calls. We work late nights and early mornings. We argue, we laugh, we celebrate, and we sometimes cry. But through it all, we remain united by a single purpose: to make authentic, beautiful Nastaleeq accessible to everyone on the web.
Meet the Core Team
Let me introduce you to the individuals who make Nastaleeq Web Pro what it is today.
Hassaan Ahmad Awan – Founder & Lead Developer
Hassaan is the heart and soul of Nastaleeq Web Pro. An electrical engineer by profession and an Urdu poet by passion, Hassaan spent over a decade watching his beautiful verses break apart online. The frustration eventually became too much to bear. He decided to build his own solution.
Hassaan wrote the first lines of code for Nastaleeq Web Pro on a rainy night in March 2025. He had no idea that those lines would grow into a full-fledged Urdu typography tool serving thousands of users worldwide. But he kept coding, kept testing, and kept believing.
Today, Hassaan leads the technical development of Nastaleeq Web Pro. He designs the architecture, writes the core code, and troubleshoots the most complex bugs. When you use Nastaleeq Web Pro, you are experiencing Hassaan’s vision and skill in every interaction.
What drives Hassaan? “I want my children to grow up in a world where Urdu looks beautiful online,” he says. “Nastaleeq Web Pro is my gift to the next generation.”
Syed Mustajab Haider – Lead UI/UX Designer & WordPress Integration Specialist
Syed Mustajab Haider wears two critical hats in our team, and he wears both with excellence. As our Lead UI/UX Designer, Mustajab joined Nastaleeq Web Pro shortly after Hassaan shared his prototype with a small design community. He was immediately struck by the potential of the tool – and equally struck by the roughness of the user interface.
Mustajab took it upon himself to redesign Nastaleeq Web Pro from the ground up. He studied how Urdu writers work, what frustrates them, and what delights them. He created wireframes, prototypes, and mockups. He tested his designs with real users and iterated based on their feedback.
The result is the elegant, intuitive interface you see today. The premium dark theme, the gold accents, the responsive layout – all of that is Mustajab’s work. He transformed Nastaleeq Web Pro from a functional tool into a beautiful experience.
But Mustajab’s contributions do not stop at design. As our WordPress Integration Specialist, he built the shortcode system that allows WordPress users to embed Nastaleeq Web Pro anywhere with a simple Shortcode. He also ensured that our generated web-ready Urdu code works flawlessly within the WordPress block editor, classic editor, and popular page builders like Elementor.
What drives Mustajab? “Design is not just about looking good,” he explains. “It is about respecting the user. Every button, every color, every spacing decision should make the user feel valued. And with WordPress powering over forty percent of the web, I knew we had to make Nastaleeq Web Pro perfectly integrated. That is my mission.”
Arib Hashmi – Urdu Language & Font Specialist
Arib Hashmi is our resident expert on all things Urdu typography. A gifted Urdu poet himself, Arib brings a unique combination of technical precision and artistic sensibility to Nastaleeq Web Pro.
With deep knowledge of Urdu literature, calligraphy, and digital fonts, Arib ensures that Nastaleeq Web Pro remains authentic and accurate. He curated our extensive collection of Nastaleeq fonts online, testing each font for rendering quality, contextual shaping, and calligraphic accuracy. He also works directly with font foundries to secure proper licensing and to explore new additions to our library.
When users ask questions about specific fonts or request new ones, Arib is the one who responds. His deep knowledge and genuine enthusiasm make him an invaluable part of the Nastaleeq Web Pro team. As a poet himself, he understands the emotional connection writers have with their words and the fonts that bring them to life.
What drives Arib? “Urdu calligraphy is an art form that spans centuries,” he says. “As a poet, I know that the visual presentation of a verse is just as important as the words themselves. Nastaleeq Web Pro is helping to preserve that art for the digital age. I cannot think of a more meaningful project to work on.”
Amna Bano – Community & Support Lead
Amna Bano is the friendly voice behind Nastaleeq Web Pro‘s customer support and community engagement. A well-known young Urdu writer, Amna has already made a name for herself in literary circles with her powerful prose and authentic voice.
Amna manages our email inbox, our social media accounts, and our user forums. When you reach out to Nastaleeq Web Pro with a question, suggestion, or complaint, Amna is the one who answers. But she does much more than answer emails. She actively seeks out user feedback, compiles feature requests, and advocates for user needs within the team.
Amna has personally spoken to hundreds of Nastaleeq Web Pro users, learning about their workflows, their challenges, and their dreams. As a writer herself, she understands the struggles that content creators face. She speaks their language, shares their frustrations, and celebrates their victories.
What drives Amna? “Every user has a story,” Amna shares. “When someone uses Nastaleeq Web Pro to publish their first Urdu blog post or to share a poem with a loved one, that is a victory. As a young Urdu writer, I know how hard it can be to find your voice. I am here to make sure every user feels supported, heard, and valued.”
Our Extended Family
Beyond the core team, Nastaleeq Web Pro benefits from a network of contributors, beta testers, and advisors. These individuals may not work with us every day, but their impact is immeasurable.
Beta Testers: Before every major release, a group of trusted beta testers puts Nastaleeq Web Pro through its paces. They test fonts, report bugs, and provide honest feedback. Many of these testers are active Urdu writers who use Nastaleeq Web Pro in their daily work.
Font Foundries: We work closely with font foundries and independent type designers to license and integrate authentic Nastaleeq fonts online. These partnerships ensure that our font library remains legally compliant and culturally respectful.
Academic Advisors: Several university professors and Urdu language experts advise Nastaleeq Web Pro on matters of calligraphic accuracy, educational applications, and cultural sensitivity.
Community Volunteers: From translating our interface into other languages to writing tutorials and creating video guides, volunteers contribute to Nastaleeq Web Pro in countless ways.
Our Shared Values
Despite our diverse backgrounds and different roles, the Nastaleeq Web Pro team shares a set of core values that guide everything we do.
1. Authenticity First
We never compromise on the authenticity of Nastaleeq. Every font in Nastaleeq Web Pro is carefully vetted for calligraphic accuracy. Every feature is designed to serve real Urdu writers, not hypothetical users.
2. Privacy Always
Nastaleeq Web Pro processes everything client-side because we believe your words belong to you. We do not store, save, or analyze your text. Privacy is not a feature – it is a right.
3. Continuous Improvement
We are never done improving Nastaleeq Web Pro. Every day, we find small ways to make the tool faster, more reliable, and more enjoyable to use. We listen to user feedback and we act on it.
4. Accessibility for All
Nastaleeq Web Pro is free to start because we believe everyone deserves access to beautiful Urdu typography. The Pro subscription exists only to sustain the project, not to exclude users.
5. Community Over Competition
We do not see other Urdu typography tools as competitors. We see them as fellow travelers on a shared mission. We celebrate their successes and learn from their challenges.
A Day in the Life of Our Team
What does a typical day look like for the Nastaleeq Web Pro team? There is no typical day. But let me paint a picture.
Hassaan wakes up early and checks the error logs. He fixes a minor bug in the font rendering engine before breakfast. Mustajab reviews user feedback on the interface and sketches a small improvement to the font size slider, then switches context to test the WordPress shortcode on a new theme. Arib tests a new font from a foundry in Pakistan and writes a detailed report.
Amna answers support emails from users around the world. One user cannot figure out how to copy the web-ready code. Another user suggests a new font. A third user shares a beautiful poem they created with Nastaleeq Web Pro. Amna responds to each one with patience and warmth, drawing on her own experience as a writer.
In the evening, the team gathers on a video call. We share our progress, debate a design decision, and laugh about something silly that happened during the day. Then we sign off and do it all again tomorrow.
This is the reality of Nastaleeq Web Pro. It is not glamorous. It is not easy. But it is meaningful.
Why We Do What We Do
At the end of the day, the Nastaleeq Web Pro team is driven by a simple belief: the Urdu language deserves to be seen and celebrated online.
For too long, Urdu writers have been forced to compromise. They have accepted broken fonts, misaligned letters, and unprofessional presentations because there was no better option. Nastaleeq Web Pro changes that.
Every time a user publishes a beautiful Urdu article using our tool, we celebrate. Every time a poet shares their verses without worrying about font rendering, we feel proud. Every time a teacher creates Urdu learning materials that actually work, we know we are making a difference.
This is why we built Nastaleeq Web Pro. This is why we continue to improve it. And this is why we invite you to join us on this journey.
